IMPORTANT-PLEASE READ THIS PAGE BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO APPLY TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL!

PLEASE ALLOW 4-5 BUSINESS DAYS FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE THOROUGHLY PROCESSED BY ONE OF OUR ADOPTION COUNSELORS
If the animals are still listed on our website they are still available. If an animal has an adoption pending it will be listed as Pending. Once adopted, the animal will no longer be active but will appear under "Successes".

The adoption of a companion animal is not a trivial matter. We take our work very seriously, and we want to be certain our animals are placed in a loving, caring environment. While we cannot guarantee the health of our animals, they have received medical attention from a veterinarian, are spayed/neutered, if old enough, have received appropriate testing (i.e. feline leukemia/FIV for cats) and have received appropriate vaccinations.

Our animals also have been cared for in a home environment, are socialized and used to being in a home and around people-as opposed to a typical shelter animal, who has been living in a cage or kennel, may be stressed or become sick from their environment, lacks socialization and possibly interaction skills. We take care of these animals as though they were our own. Some of them have lived with us for quite some time; some, especially small, motherless kittens and puppies, we have literally hand-raised, bottle fed and some we have literally saved from near death illness or life-threatening situations. Naturally we are attached to them and, as a result, we want to be sure they are going to a good home.

Caring for an animal costs money-we provide all food, bedding, litter, medical care, etc. Thus we do charge a fee for the adoption of our animals.

Our fees are:

  • $100 for a cat.
  • $125 for a dog.
  • $175 for a puppy.
  • $  60 for a rabbit
  • $  25 for a guinea pig

*Please note that all our animals are spayed or neutered, if old enough. We do charge a $50 refundable spaying/neutering deposit for puppies & kittens, which is in addition to the adoption fee. This deposit will be returned once you provide proof of spaying or neutering which is required under the adoption agreement.

Our online adoption forms are easy to complete-just click here!

Please note that we realize not everyone is comfortable using computers and filling out online forms. We still want to provide you with a way to fill out forms so that our animals find good, loving homes!!!! Here is a link to either fill out the forms in Microsoft Word, save to your computer and email to us, or simply open them up, print them out and fax to us.

Applying for adoption does not necessarily guarantee that you will be approved.
We have requirements that all prospective "parents" must meet:

  • A drivers license or some form of photo identification with your current address;
  • Residency-do you own your home or do you rent it? If you own your home, please bring some proof of home ownership or you may fax it to us at 610-862-3938. This can be a copy of your deed, mortgage payment book or tax bill.
  • If you are not the owner of the property, then we need to check with the owners of the property to be sure that the animal will be allowed.
  • If you live in an apartment, we need to see a copy of your lease stating that you are allowed to have pets.
  • What other animals are currently living in the household, and what is their disposition? We need to be sure that the animal you are adopting will get along with the other "members" of your household.
  • We need your veterinarian’s name and contact information of not only your current animal(s) but your previous animals as well so we can obtain a reference. Are your existing animals up to date on vaccines and have they been spayed and neutered? We cannot consider you as prospective adopters if your existing animals do not meet these standards-PLUS it's a good idea for the health and well-being of your own animals as well.

Please also note that, once approved and once you've adopted an animal from us, we reserve the right to do a post-adoption home visitation to check on the well-being of the animal.

We also have printed applications available at our outreach events which may be completed onsite or faxed: 610-862-3938
